Texas Kidney Consultants is specialized in managing Kidney Disease, Kidney Transplant and Hypertension. Since 1972, we have been providing excellent kidney care in Fort-Worth, Texas, and surrounding area with offices in Fort-Worth, Cleburne, Granbury, Burleson, Boat Club, Arlington, Keller, Alliance, and Weatherford.

Our Nephrologists are Fellowship trained and Board Certified in Nephrology with extensive experience and skills to provide individualized care.

We work with your Primary Care Physician (PCP) and your healthcare team to achieve a comprehensive kidney care.

We are a group with a long history in Fort Worth. This is not only where our practice is – but where our hearts are. History about the company

1969

Dr. N. Kermit Olson, an associate of Dallas Nephrology Associates (DNA) started the first dialysis services at St. Joseph Hospital and John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.

1972

Dr. J. Patrick Brennan joined Dr. Olson in his mission, and together they found Dialysis Associates (DA).
Side A of Tarrant County Dialysis Center (TCNC) was built to offer outpatient dialysis services in Fort Worth, TX. Later, Dr. Michael Stoltz joined Dr. Olson and Dr. Brennan to build TCNC’s Side B which was the first and only dialysis unit in Fort Worth, TX.

1977

Dr. Richard Mauk joined Dialysis Associates (DA) and together with Dallas Nephrology Associates (DNA) they brought dialysis to the mid-cities for the very first time by opening and operating a Dialysis Unit in Arlington, TX.

1981-1982

Dialysis Associates (DA) established in-house dialysis at Arlington Memorial (aka. Texas Health Arlington Memorial), Harris Methodist: HEB (aka Texas Health Harris Methodist: Hurst-Euless- Bedford) and HCA South Arlington hospitals.

1980-1984

Dialysis Associates (DA) expanded dialysis services at All Saints Hospital (aka Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth) and HCA Medical Plaza Hospital (aka Medical City – Fort Worth) for routine assistance.

1983

Dialysis Associates (DA) introduced a central venous dialysis catheter (single-lumen)

1984

Dialysis Associates used the first double-lumen acute dialysis catheters and conducted the first CAVHD (Continuous Arteriovenous Hemodialysis) along with CVVHD (Continuous Veno-Venous Hemofiltration) in Tarrant County, Fort Worth, TX.

1985

NMC Southwest opened, leading the way for decentralized dialysis care with units in Cleburne‚ Weatherford‚ Granbury, and Haltom City in Texas being the first within their communities.

1985-1986

Dialysis Associates (DA) joined ventures with Harris Methodist Fort Worth (aka Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital-Fort Worth), TX and found the Tarrant County Organ Donor Program later to become ‘Life Gift North’, one of the most successful organ procurement agencies in the world (donors/million/year 75 vs 24 USA).

1986

Dialysis Associates (DA) partnered with Harris Methodist – Fort Worth (aka Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital – Fort Worth), TX and performed their first kidney transplant in Tarrant County, TX. Kidney Transplants then increased from 7 per year to a peak of 66 per year.

1986-present

Dialysis Associates (DA) became the Medical Director of the transplant program.

1990

Dialysis Associates (DA) introduced high flux dialysis as a standard of care in both acute and chronic dialysis units.

1996

Under Dialysis Associates (DA) leadership‚ the efforts of Life Gift and transplant program were recognized in the Newspaper, ‘Cleveland Plain Dealer’ as the most efficient transplant program in the United States of America with 51 days for individuals awaiting their first kidney transplants.

2000

Dialysis Associates opened their first Interventional Nephrology Lab in Fort Worth, TX helping preserve and prolong dialysis access to provide acute dialysis access.
